Why travel with Svea Adventures?
We spend many summer months traveling throughout Scandinavia, finding and testing great tour companies that offer fantastic adventures, so that we can share these with you. We've experienced most of the trips ourselves so that we can help you find the perfect adventure and answer all of your questions.
Why travel to Scandinavia?
Scandinavia is a destination of endless possibilities. From the polar regions of the far north to the deep fairytale forests of the south, Scandinavia has a wide variety of climates and scenery. From the rugged coastal areas of the west to thousands of freshwater lakes in the east, Scandinavia offers every kind of activity you can imagine. Friendly people, breathtaking scenery, clean air and water, good food, uncrowded wildlands, relaxed atmospheres, colorful country sides and unique landscapes.
What is included in the cost?
Each trip is different and each trip detail page further explains what is included and what is not. Typically, accommodations, most meals, guides (unless it's a self-guided trip) and equipment are included. Transportation to and from starting point, personal purchases, insurance costs, pre or post trip hotel accommodations or alcoholic beverages are generally not included.
Do I need to be an expert on any activity?
No, you can generally participate in any of the activities, as long as you are in reasonably good shape and enjoy fresh air and the outdoors. Certain trips require some prior experience, so read the trip descriptions carefully. Contact us to discuss your interests and we can help you find the best trip for you.
What is the typical group size?
We like to focus on trips that offer smaller group sizes since we feel that it's important not only for everyone's enjoyment but also for the places you visit. The maximum group size on most trips is 7-10, with a few exceptions of 18 on the Iceland horseback riding trips.
What kind of accommodations can I expect?
Accommodations vary from trip to trip and can include comfortable inns, B&B’s, simple cabins, huts and camp grounds. Since each trip is different, the accommodations are described under each trip detail page on the website.
What kind of food will I eat?
Traditional Scandinavian meals and lots of it! On all of the trips, you'll find local specialties as well as international favorities. A great aspect of travel is to taste local cuisine and indulge in regional delicacies. Examples are reindeer and moose in the mountains, fresh caught seafood along the coast and fresh, local produce down south.
Who will be traveling in my group?
Anyone and everyone with a sense of adventure and the desire to explore new and different places! People from all walks of life, with all kinds of different backgrounds and experiences! Some trips have an age limit so email us if you plan to travel with your children.
When should I book my trip?
As soon as you're ready to commit to a trip - book it! The season for travel to Scandinavia is short and airfare can get quite expensive and sometimes difficult to find if you wait too long. We recommend that you book your trip and purchase your airfare 6 months prior to departure in order to get the best deals on flights.
