Pedal along beautiful Lake Siljan in the province of Dalecarlia and take in magnificent views, cultural highlights and traditional handicrafts. Pedal past picturesque villages with red painted cottages and many beaches where you can stop for a swim in the lake. Start in the town of Leksand and enjoy the views from the lake on a boat ride to Mora, famous for the annual Wasa Ski Race and traditional midsummer celebrations. From Mora, you pedal along the eastern shore of the lake to Rattvik. On the way, stop in at one of the factories for the famous hand painted "Dala Horse" and watch the craftsmen at work. From Rattvik, you pedal past the village of Tallberg, located on a hillside overlooking the lake. Those of you with some extra time to spend can choose to add a day to the trip and spend a night in Tallberg, and watch the sun set over the lake from the porch of a beautiful hotel, before pedaling back to Leksand the following day.

Is it for me?
This biking trip is rated moderate. The terrain is rolling and includes both climbs and descents. Daily biking distance is between 30-55 km. You set your own pace make as many stops as you like. It recommended that you are recreational bicyclist in reasonably good shape.

This biking adventure takes place in the province of Dalecarlia which is located in west central Sweden. The trip starts and ends in Leksand, on the shore of Lake Siljan. Leksand can be reached by train from Stockholm (approx 4 hours).
