RAVEN'S EYE HIKING ADVENTURE

This unique hiking adventure in the mountains of Jämtland, offers a wilderness experience many seek but few find in today's world. Hike in a small group, with Icelandic pack horses carrying your belongings, exploring the mountains, lakes and flora of this remote mountain region. There are no trails here. Instead you venture into the mountains and set the pace and direction the group chooses – climbing un-named mountain tops, fishing for trout in hidden lakes and picking fresh blue berries and cloud berries from never-ending berry bushes. Fall is the best time to experience this area, with it’s changing, vibrant colors, crisp air and mountain delicacies.

Is it for me?
This trip offers a moderate hiking experience in hilly terrain, with some rewarding climbs and panoramic overlooks. Hike in a region with very few trails and instead hike on soft covered tundra and through low growing birch forests. Daily hiking distance is approximately 10-12 kilometers. You make several stops and take in the fresh air and the solitude of this hidden treasure in central Sweden.

"It was very rewarding and stimulating. The scenery was spectacular and the food a culinary delight. Meeting your guides at the airport was very convenient which we appreciated. The trip was very rewarding and one we would put on our list for a possible repeat. Our guide was well versed on the culture and folklore of the region, certainly had a great sense of humor and was a cook extraordinaire...I'm glad we had the flexibility to change the daily activities, especially on the day we had the rainy weather. When we first arrived at the unique lodge, I got the feeling that this was going to be an exciting trip - and I was right on. The lodge was extremely comfortable and had all the facilities of a first rate hotel. I looked forward to the variety of our Swedish meals which were served, a neat change from our usual American diet. All in all, we had a fantastic time. We've been on a number of foreign trekking trips and this one was one of the tops. I wish you continued success in the coming year and lots of clients to experience what we did."
