RAVEN'S EYE HORSEBACK ADVENTURE

Ride through the mountains and valleys of this remote corner of west central Sweden, close to the border of Norway. Endless wilderness awaits you with numerous mountain tops above tree-line, and no one else in sight for days. You’ll find free flowing streams and rivers, trout-filled lakes and all the fresh air you can handle. This adventure gives “off-the-beaten-path” a whole new meaning.

Is it for me?
The horseback riding on this trip is rated as intermediate. You stay off the trails and ride the open range of rolling hills and gentle slopes. Because of the lack of trails, the terrain is uneven and sometimes wet. It’s important that you are a confident rider and that you enjoy all gaits in varied terrains.

Inclusions:
Transportation to and from Jorm, 5 nights of accommodations, all meals, guides, camping equipment (bring sleeping bag) horses and tack.

Accommodations:
Enjoy 4 nights at a unique and comfortable Viking lodge and 1 night camping in the mountains. The lodge offers shared facilities and the camping spot has an outhouse.

Meals:
All meals are included from lunch on Day 1 to breakfast on Day 6. At the lodge we enjoy local gourmet cuisine and hearty breakfasts and on the trail you experience wonderful wilderness meals, cooked over an open fire.

Horses:
The horses are Icelandic Horse. They are small in size but very strong and personable. The The Icelandic horse is known for its stamina and comfortable running walk gait called tölt.

Location:
This adventure takes place in mountains of west-central Sweden, along the border to Norway. It starts and ends in Östersund, with a transfer to the tiny community of Jorm, approximately 4 hours by van. You reach Östersund by train or flight from Stockholm. The train takes between 5,5-7 hours and the flight takes about an hour.
