This adventure in Sweden's most southerly wilderness is for those of you looking for an exclusive and unique experience in nature. You will build your own timber raft out of logs and ropes and go down the river Klarälven in the province of Värmland. You will take an active part in the cooking, but every evening you will be served a delicious dinner in a camp prepared over open fire. You spend the nights in a tent. Means of transport is the timber raft you have built yourself, drifting on the river Klarälven at a speed of about 2 Km per hour, enjoying the scenery, solitude and fresh air along the way.

Is it for me?
This trip is rated moderate. You should be in good physical condition. Drifting down the river Klarälven can sometimes be adventurous, but not dangerous. It's a very calm river, but the current is still strong. The nature itself offers most of the adventures and you have to be prepared of all kind of weather. You should have good swimming skills.

Accommodations:
Enjoy 4 nights camping in tents along the river Klarälven.

The Timber Rafts:
You will build your own timber raft with the help of instructors. Your home for the duration of your trip will be a 18 square meter timber raft.

Meals:
All meals are included from dinner on day 1 to lunch on day 5. Breakfasts and dinners are prepared for you by the guides at camp. You make your own lunch during the days with the included provisions you bring on the raft.

Location:

This trip takes place in the province of Värmland, which is located in the southern part of west central Sweden, close to the border of Norway. The trip starts in Gunnerud and ends in Björkebo. Gunnerud can be reached by bus from Karlstad, which can be reached by train or flight from Stockholm. From Björkebo there is a bus that takes you back to Karlstad.
