NORDIC SAGA JOURNEY

Download PDF Detail Document

Journey through southern Sweden's highlands, where you'll kayak, bike and canoe through the "Troll Belt" - a region known for its mythology, fairy tales and legends. Travel on land and water with different modes of transportation in order to get close to nature. The first day of adventure brings you to Lake Sommen where you join your kayaking guide on a magnificent journey across the clear waters of the lake. Spend the night in tents on a secluded island and fall asleep to the sounds of nature. Maybe you ’ll spot an osprey in its protected habitat. The next day, pedal mountain bikes through history and a picturesque landscape, mostly on roads going downhill. In the evening, cook up a wilderness feast with ancient techniques and spend the night in a Sami yurt on the beaches of a small lake. On the last day of adventure, paddle canoes down the cold flowing waters of Stångån creek, passing several cultural sights and enjoying a sense of wilderness. End your adventure back at the farm with a farewell dinner and a cozy bed.

Extended Option:

Spend another day and night at the farm and enjoy some horseback riding through the echanted forests, surrounding Kalvefall Farm.

"Yes, we very much enjoyed our holiday. The only problem is, it is so hard to get back to the daily life after such a wonderful experience. Walking in the rain, in the woods and feeling one with god's creation...a very strong feeling indeed."
