JOKKMOKK WINTER ADVENTURE

The old traditional winter market in Jokkmokk is over 400 years old and it has been a meeting place for the Sami people and the traders from far away. Today it is still a meeting place with modern traders, Sami culture and much more. During this week above the arctic circle you will experience Jokkmokk winter market, Årrenjarka mountain lodge, sami culture, traditional and local food, culture events and activities such as snowmobile excursion, sled dog tour, cross country skiing and wildlife safari. And to relax we can offer genuine sauna and open sky bathtub. End your adventure with a visit to the famous Ice Hotel.

Is it for me?
This trip is rated easy to moderate. You should be in good physical condition and enjoy outdoor activities in winter. Typical temperatures in the winter is around 5 degrees Fahrenheit, but it can vary from -30 to 40 degrees Fahrenheit (-35 to +5 Celcius). The weather can vary from sunny days to snow and wind. Activities include snowmobiling, dog sledding and cross country skiing.

6 days / 5 nights - 1 day of snowmobiling, 1/2 day of dog sledding, 1 day cross country skiing and 1 1/2 day of cultural immersion & Sami experience.

Location:
This winter adventure takes place in and around Jokkmokk in central Lapland. It starts in Luleå and ends in Kiruna and transportation is provided from and to the airports. The flight from Stockholm takes about 2 hours. You can also travel by train and bus, if you wish to experience some beautiful Swedish country side on the way.
